FAQS
I’m Here for You
Below are answers to my clients’ frequently asked questions. If there is something I’ve missed, please don’t hesitate to ask. For more information, get in touch. I look forward to meeting you soon.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM MY FIRST SESSION?
Your first session will be a New Client Consultation. We will spend about an hour together, in-person or online. We will work together to identify the issues you would most like to address in our future sessions and what treatments will be the most beneficial. It is a good time to ask questions. Please be prepared to discuss all aspects of your wellness. I really do need to know more about you, including medical history, emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual/non-spiritual aspects, your big stressors, and traumas you may have experienced as well as other treatments or therapies you have tried or are currently doing. I know building trust can be difficult, but I can assure you, anything you share with me is confidential. The only exception is if I am legally compelled to report harm to yourself or others, surrender information, or testify in court, unless you give me written permission to share your information with others for your benefit; such as your primary care physician, therapist, or other provider. If you have some things that are too difficult to talk about, please just say so, and we won't go any further into it until you are ready. I'm here to help.
DO YOU HELP TREAT TERMINAL OR CHRONIC ILLNESS?
Whatever the issue, I am willing to discuss the options. Some treatments may not be appropriate for certain chronic conditions or palliative care. Detoxification or healing reactions can be stressful, so it is important to approach treatment based on the specifics of the individual client's needs. I have a great deal of compaction for anyone in this situation as I have come face-to-face with chronic conditions and my own mortality as part of my personal journey.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY SESSION?
All the services offered are part of your self-care. Ideally, you should wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothes and be prepared to remove your shoes, write down any questions you may have, minimize the possibility for interruption, and remove all electronic devices from your body (phone, smart watch, etc.) except those that are medically necessary (insulin pump, heart monitor, etc). Depending on the type of session you are participating in, you may be asked to lay on a massage table, sit or lay on a mat or cushions on the floor. If this is difficult or uncomfortable, please let me know and we will find an alternative. If we will be working through something particularly difficult or emotionally challenging, you may want to have someone you trust available for support following your session.
If you are coming to the office for an in-person session, be aware that there is no childcare available, no pets are allowed in the building with the exception of fully credentialed compliant service dogs (property-owner's policy). The office is located on the first floor for those with accessibility challenges. If you require accommodation assistance, please let me know.
If you are joining our session remotely online, do your best to find a quiet spot where you won't be disturbed during the session. I understand that life is busy and can get in the way, but it is not appropriate to attempt to participate in any session while driving or in places where confidential information may be overheard. I want you to be safe, comfortable and focus on you.
If you have not paid for your session online at the time of booking, please do expect to pay in full in advance of the session. Re-booking discounts may apply if you wish to book future sessions on the day of your scheduled session.
