The Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is an alternative to compliment the traditional treatment for pain, releasing trauma or emotional distress. The session is available In-person or Virtually via Zoom. EFT is commonly referred to as tapping or psychological acupressure. Negative emotions can cause a disruption in the body’s energy system. Fingertips gently tap on the pathways through which energy is believed to flow (meridian points) to release blockages, balancing energy flow, to maintain optimal health. Two main goals of treatment focus on recognizing your issues and you accepting yourself despite these problems. Before tapping, we will identify the current issue and create an acknowledging affirmation statement that will be repeated during treatment. While maintaining focus on this statement, fingertips will tap on nine of the body’s meridian points. Tapping will continue in cycles aimed at your acceptance and resolution of negative emotion. Tapping sends signals directly to the stress centers of the mid-brain, thus reducing the stress or negative emotion created from the issue. Clients will be asked to concentrate on the negative emotion—fear or anxiety, a bad memory, an unresolved problem, or anything that’s disturbing them, which can result in a significant emotional reaction. This is natural. There is no judgement. This treatment can be very emotional. You may need some time to regain emotional composure following the session and may want to insure that someone you trust is available for added support or to drive you home or sit with you following the session. This treatment is not a substitute for any prescribed medication, medical treatment or psychiatric care. Prescribed medication, treatment or care should not be stopped without direction from the prescriber.
A great deal of preparation goes into getting ready for your session, including preparing the room for your visit or setting up a virtual meeting, meditation for the benefit of your wellness, and making sure your specific needs are met. If you are unable to arrive on time for your scheduled appointment, please reschedule or cancel your appointment at least 24 hours in advance. If you arrive late for the scheduled session, your session will still end at the scheduled end time. This allows all clients to receive the highest quality service, reduces wait time between sessions, and generally helps everything run smoothly. Life is full of unexpected challenges, but please respect the level of effort your practitioner has put forth on your behalf. If you do not arrive for your scheduled appointment and you have not rescheduled or cancelled, unfortunately, you will be charged for the full amount of your session fee. If this happens more than once, you may be asked to find a practitioner that better fits your needs and availability.
